No overnight success, 21-year-old Baby D has paid his dues, cultivating a loyal underground following of fans in his native Decatur and throughout Atlanta and the south who have been chanting and bouncing with him for years. And even though it seems that he was making noise that no one outside of the south could really hear, he never changed his tune. Baby D made his foray into rap music when he was only 12 years old. He met Atlanta hip hop hero and mix tape kingpin Big Oomp in 1994 just when Oomp was preparing to launch his record label. Baby D jumped on the Oomp Camp band wagon, and began making “crunk” music that was taking over the rap scene in Atlanta and in nationwide. Baby D hopes to get recognition as a solo artists with his new album “The Shining” on Epic Records.
